About Me
Welcome to Roaminglist….

Hi, I’m Mary, and yep – that’s me up there, tromping around a centuries-old fortress in Bulgaria. I’ve been in the travel industry for decades, am a lifelong reader, a part-time expat, & — quite by accident — an online entrepreneur.
I’m your go-to guide for inspired travel, stellar reads, and smart ways to fund your wanderlust.
“If you’re somewhere in midlife (or a little past it) and itching to see more, do more, and maybe even earn a little extra while you’re at it – welcome. You’ve found your people. We go places here – both on the map & off it.“
Going Places – On the Map & Off It
Roaminglist is where travel meets stories, side hustles, and second chances — because wanderlust doesn’t retire. Whether I’m in Spain, reading my way through a stack of novels set in Italy, or figuring out how to fund my next river cruise, I’m all about living fully, exploring often, and keeping the adventure fund topped up.
Why Roaminglist?
For decades, I’ve run my own travel company, creating custom itineraries and luxury trips for people who wanted something more than a cookie-cutter vacation. Somewhere between booking river cruises and juggling a hundred browser tabs, I discovered I could chase new ideas (and destinations) even when I wasn’t traveling – through blogging, affiliate marketing, and building niche websites from anywhere with Wi-Fi.
Now, Roaminglist is where all of that comes together:
- Travel – Travel tips and inspiration for grown-up travelers who like smart ways to explore with comfort, curiosity, and a dash of humor.
- Armchair Travel – Books that transport you without the baggage fees.
- Work From Anywhere – Side hustles and skill-based income ideas that fit real life, especially if you have decades of work and life experience already under your belt.
Imagine my joy when I discovered that I could have Amazon pay ME, rather than only me paying Amazon when I bought stuff LOL.
Suddenly, my favorite travel gadgets, book recommendations, and online tools became part of a new kind of journey – one that included affiliate marketing, blogging, and building niche websites from wherever I happened to be, Wi-Fi willing. Digital nomadism – if that’s even a real term – found me, and I’ve been hooked ever since.
So here we are.

Is Roaminglist For You?
If you’re somewhere in midlife (or beyond) and want to see more, do more, and maybe earn a little extra while you’re at it, you’re in the right place. I’ve been in the travel industry for decades, crisscrossing the globe long enough to know the good, the bad, and the laugh-out-loud ridiculous parts of travel — and I bring all of that experience (plus a healthy dose of Boomer sass) to Roaminglist.

Funny Facts (about me)
- I would usually rather shop for new blog themes than clothes.
- I only found my inner geek late in life – now I’m all in!
- Reading is a favorite hobby of mine, and I admit that I love romance novels. The truth is, a lot of people absolutely will not admit that! Not sure why! How else do you think the romance fiction industry has gotten to be worth over 1 billion dollars a year? So, no surprise that one of my niche sites is a book blog.
- I’ve loved cooked spinach (even the canned stuff) since I was a little kid.

Pull up a chair, pour yourself a coffee (or wine), and let’s plan your next chapter — on the map and off it.
And remember, keep calm and roam on.
